Research

As well as supporting the BTO the Group has instigated original research projects of our own which have concentrated on studies of a particular species. The cost of this research is borne entirely by the ringers themselves. If you would like to support our work or sponsor a project you might like to consider making a donation to the Group.

All bird ringing (banding) undertaken by the Group is carried out under the auspices of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) by dedicated volunteers. It is a legal requirement that all ringers must hold special licences issued by the Trust to carry out this work.
